Fall Social
Professional Learning and Networking Event
If you’ve been a part of networked learning, here, in Eastern Ontario, then you’ve likely experienced the positive impact it has had on your own learning.
Through leadership opportunities with professional organizations--like OAME—we can all experience the impacts of collaborative professionalism. What’s essential for us to remember is that the road towards improved student learning is not borne out of our organizations’ independent approaches. Our greatest impact comes when we’re collaboratively exploring our approaches to teaching mathematics and how that bumps up against our current experiences and educational research. |

Strategically, O34ME recognizes just how important it is to take responsibility for the improvement of other groups, as well as our own.
And with every year, our first opportunity to better understand the needs of our members and to do some networking is through O34ME's celebrated, Fall Social. This year's event was hosted virtually on Saturday, Oct 24th and both a recording of the presentation as well as slides from the event (see slideshow) have been posted here for members who were unable to attend. Check out the video!

It's time again for our O34ME Fall Social! Come have a virtual conversation with your Ottawa Zone math education friends, celebrate award winners, and win awesome door prizes! Breakout room discussion topics will include Assessment Practices, Remote Teaching, New Math Curriculum, De-streaming Secondary Math, and Culturally-Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy.
IMPORTANT: Out of respect for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, we're re-scheduling the Fall Social to Thursday, Oct 7--same time, 4-5pm (Zoom link to be shared leading up to the session). We wish everyone all the very best, as we learn more with our colleagues and students about supporting "...the reclamation, revitalization, maintaining and strengthening of Indigenous languages in Canada" (Learn More). Use the button or embedded form, below to register. We look forward to seeing you there! |
